  • Solid Live Album

Big fan of Dub Trio and this album is a great addition, heavy instrumental dub that works for the most part. This is a live album composed of tunes from the New Heavy and Exploring the Dangers of Dub albums with a few new tunes mixed in. Each song has a slightly different take than the original album tracks and they really rock, for a live album the sound is excellent. My only gripe with the album and Dub Trio is that almost all the songs follow the same formula, start off with an awesome metal riff/lead in, follow with a middle section with dub reggae and some atmospherics mixed in, end the song back on the metal riff. This works well on some songs but after a while, it gets a little old and some of the songs sound the same. However, overall this album rocks and is a must have for Dub Trio fans.

They claim it's their "heaviest record to date" and it really is. They still go back to their dub roots from time to time and its amazing how they do it without being annoying. The only other band who does that that I dig is Bad Brains. This album makes me really glad that I live in Brooklyn so I can easier experience them first hand. Their live show is awesome and this record reflects that!!
