have i founds this years Ladytron? i only mean that in terms of enough originality and contagiousness that is a very slim few of the new electronic age. much like there are few relevant players in the "nuemetal" field, i am always searching for the perfect mix of originality but not so esoteric that it only catches on with the artists themsleves. This IS that. true, what everyone says here, it does sound like, KFDM, actually more like thier old side project, PIG, with deep heavy drippings bringing the sythesized portions into the real world, not hanging somewhere out in space, aloof and confusing like some of thier earlier stuff. Heard of these guys before. Coming from 18 years of trance, trip hop, acid house and breaks, i've really seen and heard thousands upon thousands of DJ's and electronic artists, so i am jaded. it takes alot and back in 99 when i was lamenting the fizzling out of Chemical Bros and some grunge electro artists, i was too quick to write these guys off. thier sound was too "kitchen appliance" for me. but THIS, is great. great buildups, great balance of jagged edges without becoming too static-clingy. they walked the line and did it well, and for that, they get my dollar! now if i can only download a few remaining tracks in thier entirety...have been having technical glitches for days now..... BTW, "I'm a Man" is not my fav here, but "Blood Shot Eyes". niether here nor there. -Guy Ritchie needs to send these guys a Xmas ham and a stogie. THEY completely set the tone for the RocknRolla soundtrack!
  • How can you listen to any other electronica?

This is awesome. Read about the band in Playboy, thought I'd give them a try, was rewarded with amazing music. I normally hate electronica, especially house and trance, but as a metalhead, I am drawn to the dark, and this has got the goods. Al of the songs are great, both danceable and head bang-able.

These guys can do no wrong in my book. Dark and lazy sneering vocals guide you through the seedy streets of Paris underground. The electro bass is a counterpoint to the guitars and live drumming throughout the cd. Tracks like Girl Next Door, Not What You Need, and You Should Be really show the band's diversity and give a nod to the present day EBM and Deathtronik movements without compromising any of their previous dancefloor instinct. Black Strobe IS the new Black!!

Burn Your Own Church sounds like Nick Cave raving through a late night with KMFDM. It's brilliant & perfect for driving, walking or running from bland music.
