I was never so fortunate to see joe strummer live , but I got everything I could find back in the day. From the genuine passion he plays his truth and I felt as I knew him . . . No I mean I felt as if he knew me. He lives in many hearts & souls but what a gift to leave all of us his spirit in all the intimacy of his music. He will always have that incredible connection with the world and will be present for generations to come. A true profit !

Hadn't seen the movie in while, but I downloaded the soundtrack and it just takes you right back there. Such a talent, I won't say lost... but given. If you haven't seen the movie don't wait.

  • Great ecclectic collection!

Terrific collection of songs that inspired and influenced Joe Strummer, and some off-the-beaten path Clash tunes. The clips from his radio show make me wish more episodes were available on Itunes. Too bad we lost Joe in 2002, and yet Barry Manilow lives forever.

...front man to one of the most influential bands in Rock & Roll history. iTunes where's the Joe Strummer page? What no photo or bio, no tribute? His life, his music, it's legend. He was vital, absolutely quintessential, Strummer was the REAL thing. The world, generations need to know he was here! A tireless spirit for the cause and the taken from us much to soon.   "London calling - and I don't wanna shout, but while we were talking I saw you nodding out". Wake-up!

This collection shows the wide range of Joe's musical interests, as also shown by the diversity of his recordings during his last few years. There's a lot of good music (and some short audio clips, mostly heard elsewhere) on this compilation, and it might just introduce you to some music and musicians you should, but didn't know. One thing to know: if you like "Black Sheep Boy", it's by Tim Hardin (with an 'i', not 'e').

A short history of Joe Strummer and the music he loved. Not a bad track in the bunch. The man and his music made you think. Check it out if you need to know.

This is an amazing collection. It's a nice introduction to the kinds of things that made Mr Strummer tick, from Rai to Reggae to Rockabilly and everywhere in between. There isn't a clunker on the record, and you could play it for virtually anyone.
  • a gem
