Good Times

I was recently searching the web for some good old school music to bop or step to. I came across this artist and found the sound had a good rhythm and smooth beat. Another Wendell B. song is called "this is for my people in the back" - it has an old teddy P. background. Very smooth and slick. I recommend the songs - something for the cool and sexy. N2JAZZ

Listening to Wendell B. is a real pleasure. He has a mature, smooth voice. Sounds like a person who has experience in life. Not just singing something for the sake of selling an album. In this day of copying the next trendy sound, (where a lot of young singers sound the same,) the vocals, music etc. are fresh. R&B/Soul still has roots. No offense to the younger sounds of today, but a lot of singers sound as if they are singing from their throats not their diaphram. Copying the newest teenage/20 something quick success. If you listen to R&B/Soul singers from back in the day, they are bringing it from their toes!!! From their own life experiences. Todays singers sounds like all tenors. No bottom. Motown, the Philly Sound, Memphis, Stax records, etc. You FELT what they were saying. Today the music pushes and sales the song. Not The Vocals. Sampling,Sampling, Sampling. You don't have to be super explicit to get your point across. No bands are kicking it either. Wendell's CD recalls some of the roots. ST.L Thang is a sleeper hit of which a lot of people are unaware. Come to Motown Wendell. You will be welcomed. I say this 7 years after its release. Midwest for life!!! Listen to the song.

Bop, Swing-out, Step, or even Slow Dance to Heaven Sent Me an Angel. It's great to see wedding couples have there first dance to this song. Silky, soulful voice and background has me closing my eyes invisioning dancing on clouds with the Love of My Life. I can't get the song out of my head. Can't wait to see Wendell B in Biloxi, MS~~!!!!~~ He's on fire in the Party Blues/ R&B genre(realm).

I do mean Good Times. This album is amazing and Wendell is one of the most exciting soul singer on the scene today. Do yourself a favor and buy this album. You will not be disappointed, his music is great.
