Just bought the album. These guys were amazing and way ahead of their time. The musicianship is top notch. Well before the Eagles, Poco etc.. Moby Grape was blending rock with acoustic and country music making their own style unforgettable. My only complaint is why they did not include "Naked If I Wanted Too" on their list of hits. That 30 second ditty should have been the bonus track as it was on the original.

Moby Grape is just simply one of the best bands you've never heard of. Changes, 8:05, Omaha, and the rest of this album will do yourself a great service.

This is the some of the best 60's stuff. You should hear Grape Jam.

I agree with all of the above. I would just like to add that the scales and phrasings this trio of Guitar greats laid down became bedrock for a decade of southern rock bands to follow.

My father told me about this song, he played this album untill the record was worn out. I recommand highly that you purchase this song.

You can go online and read many reviews and bits of the history of Moby Grape, but if you missed seeing them live in that brief period of their existence then you missed one of the very best bands of that era....and I saw them ALL. It was almost as if they had too much talent. Buy at least the first ten tracks, you won't regret it

Finally, a great remastering job to showcase this American treasure's classic material. Hopefully, Columbia/Legacy will follow suit and reissue each of Moby Grape's Columbia albums in their entirety. An SACD version of their debut is also sorely absent. There may not be another band more deserving.

Not the most complete, but still better than nothing from one of the most overlooked bands of the late 60's.....If you want more, check out the Skip Spence solos

I'll keep this brief because I love this band too much: You need to own all of their albums. Even with all the super fine stuff on here, it's not enough. I'd love to see the liner notes and booklet, but things have changed and maybe I'm one of the few who still needs all that. Too many omissions, song-wise, enough that this only seems like a taste, a path leading to five-piece brilliance and meticulous craftsmanship of melody and buzz. How about the radio piece, 'BIG', or Peter Lewis' acoustic finger-style 'If You Can't Learn From My Mistakes'.
