I love Emily Wells music, Yes its pitchy and brethy but its a style I like. I do think that some of her songs do sound very similar after a while but its verry good Chillax music
- Brilliant!

I first heard this CD playing at a bar in Los Angeles. I couldn't help but get into the groove and wonder "Who is this girl with such an enchanting voice?!" The bartender said Emily performed there a lot and that I needed to get the CD because she was incredible. That night I downloaded this album and have been in love ever since.
- i agree...ouch.

This is one of my favorites. I found this record by accident, saw it as an iTunes ad on their homepage. I'm usually suspect of all things on the iTunes homepage....it's usually corporate labels in bed with Apple....but as it turns out, this record is GREAT and this artists is INDIE, I mean really indie. Her voice just makes you melt, but a great voice isn't enough. Emily is a real songsmith, just try "50 Year Love Affair" and you will instantly understand her genius.
My favorite records of this year are:
1. The Flying Club Cup -Beirut
2. Loss and Love -Son of the Velvet Rat
3. Beautiful Sleepyhead -Emily Wells
4. Song and Void -Richard McGraw
5. YS Joanna Newsome
6. Smokey Rolls -Devendra Banhart
- ouch

Just go ahead and listen to the album itself, because I know whatever I write won't really describe its beauty...however, this album is absolutely incredible, the only thing better than the album itself, is hearing the Emily Wells Trio live. At times eerie and eccentric, the resonating words and harmonies of Emily's voice draws out all different emotions and energy from the listener with ease.
- Very nice!

I'd never heard of Emily Wells before but I totally dig this album! I was searching for a Mason Jennings CD when I noticed the cow pic under the 'other recommended artists' area. Good listen!
- Don't like it

Waltz of the Dearly Beloved almost makes the cut but most songs are just soft breathy vocals, i-tunes dared to compare her to Eilen Jewell's - High Shelf Booze on the "just for you" choices they keep recommending me but she cannot compare to the range and strong vocals of Eilen. They also recommended Hannah Montana when my music choices have been folk, so what does that tell ya.
- Incredible

I just stumbled on to Emily Wells today and was sucked in by the eery, haunting and moving sounds that come from her new album. I searched her out online and listened to the music on her website and myspace site and I can't wait for her to complete her upcoming symphonies album. I hope it comes soon.
