Imagine some mad scientist making a mutant creature formed from The Cars, The Ramones, the Beach Boys, and The Beatles and you would almost - almost - have Black Tie Revue. You need to throw in a dash of early Costello and a huge, huge chunk of fun-loving attitude - and then you'd be close. The CD is great, their live shows are even better. You cannot help but bop your head to these tunes. Wind down your window and blast some BTR; a better soundtrack for the summer is there none.
- A good buy

These guys are a great band. They take little bits from a lot of genres to make this. Their guitar parts are more "popish," while they have heavier guitar parts. They are a good buy, and expect to hear more from them in the future.

Black Tie Revue captures the fun pop guitar and lyrics that has been missing from rock and roll for nearly two decades. However the record is almost too polished and fails to capture the pure charisma and heart put into a Black Tie live show. BTR's raw Pittsburgh working class energy has only translated partially into their album. All in all it is still an amazing record and I have listened to it more than a few times. Pick up this album, enjoy it, and then go see them in concert and prepare to have your face melted off with exceptional pop-rock.

Summer time is here, and in the musical world fans look for that one cd they can listen to while driving around. Look no further. Code Fun pulls all the right swings in providing a debut album that transfers the live feel of the band onto recorded tracks. BTR shines best when giving its fans, infectious hooks and catchy choruses that easily ignite sing alongs. Highlights on the disc include Red Everywhere which plays off that fun pop rock sound of the late 70's/early 80's with bands like The Cars and Cheap Trick. Absent Radio is the the joint that has become a fan favorite when played live, and the song translates perfect on the album. If you are looking for a fresh band to provide party vibes...look no further...Black Tie Revue is ready to take rock back from the commerical mess its become, one fan at a time!
