I'm only familiar with the "Bringing Home The Ashes" album. One of my favorites from the 80's. Brings back great memories!
  • Buy it.

Great pop music, sadly underappreciated. This is a great collection.

This album was my constant companion during my high school days up until now. Everyone should really listen to the tracks: "BRINGING HOME THE ASHES", "THE WORST YEAR OF MY LIFE", and "BIBLE DREAMS". Like Paul Simpson sang "The Heart In The Heart Of England Will Never Die".

'got the "Platinum Collection" 2006 compilation cd. 'glad they're finally here... and the band ressurected [fingers crossed].

I'm no music geek and plenty of folks ridicule what I listen to but I wore out this record and for me it's never gotten old. Love it on a long drive as the songs just melt into each other. Maybe some of it's fluff but it puts me in the right mood and that's what counts. There's not one song on BHTA that I skip. I'm happy to see this on iTunes now. And Space Flower isn't half bad.

When I digitalized all my old CD's from college last year I couldn't bring myself to part with "Bringing Home the Ashes". It was just great stuff. And so is this - I can't believe it's here. Even my 10 year old loves it, which shows that it's more than just "80's".

I picked a cassette out of a $1.99 bin back in 1992 and have been in love with the Wild Swans ever since, although my cassette collection is long lost. I plugged them in the search today on a whim as they weren't in here a year ago and lo and behold, all of my favorites. I feel like I'm in yearbook class in high school right now. Must buy, must have!
  • Most underrated band ever

Truly a gem from the 80's. Talented musicians, an incredibly layered sound coupled with poignant lyrics. I highly recommend getting "Incandescent" a 2 disc compilation with many tracks not available here. Also check out the band Care that featured Paul Simpson and Ian Broudie later of The Lightning Seeds. Great stuff. It seems that as of late many new bands are coming back to the 80's style ala Swans and Chapterhouse. While this "new" sound is quite good, it cannot replace the true sound of the 80's.
  • A great album long overdue

Unfortunately, "fl" seems to miss the fact that the Wild Swans are indeed from the 80's and yes their music sounds like the alternative 80's!!! It' doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize this! Enough of that! This release was long overdue and the Swans were indeed overlooked back in the day! But they had a small following still loyal to them this day! Thanks Paul, Jeremy and Joseph!!
