This is the best find on iTunes. The Cult was on the top of their game with this early 90s concert. Buy this album!

As sommeone who got to see The Cult back in the late 80's I can say this recording captures the essence of what it was like being there. From Dreamtime to Ceremony the Cults' core sound for this era is captured beautifully. A must for longtime fans who want to remember, and new fans who want to know, what it was like to be there.

Pure raw power of the Cult. Some say Ian's voice is average on this but doesn't matter. Have read Hendrix thought his voice was average but it was in perfect complement to his legendary axemanship. If you can't get to a show, this is the next best thing.
  • This Is My All Time Favorite Live Album

I love live music recordings for any and all types of music, usually even raw, poor recording and mixes - I usually appreciate the character the "rawness" presents. But I have to say ... this is, hands-down, my favorite live album, none of my others pack the power and punch included in this batch. It is a true treat to the ears, I imagine the Marquee to be some sort of "magic venue". The bass and drums are thumping and forcefull, while the chainsaw like guitar of Mr. Duffy rips and rips. Ian's vocal would be the weakest part, yet sounds great too!

If you have the bous Eurpoean version of the Album The Cult, you received most of these songs in the form of a bonus CD. Still sounds great, and I still bought it for the extra songs.

The Cult DID release a live album in 1984. Dreamtime live at the Lyceum in London. It was the flipside to the Dreamtime cassette release and was accompanied by a full length concert film. I won't call it the Cult at their peak, BGAE is an amazing album, but for the goth/alt cusp on which they sat during the late 80's, Live at the Lyceum is magnificent. 'Even in their youth' they ran like a pack of wolves, smarter and farther than the rest of the shoe-gazing, post-punk crowd. I measure every live album I've ever heard against Live at the Lyceum. I live in hope it'll be re-released.
  • The Cult nature is on stage, better than in studio

Allways Cult has been one of my top 5 bands, this is another example of being real musicians, they sound just natural, wow!! Don't lisen to the negative guy "he just don't get it.." as Jimmi Hendrix said once in his "Nine To The Universe Album": - Help them (him) God!!
  • Great album for any Cult fan's collection

Ignore the guy that gave this 2 stars. He obviously doesn't grasp the concept of the rating system. While I will confirm that Ian's voice is not as powerful as it could have been, you quickly get over that when you hear the rest of the band. Billy Duffy is phenominal on this album, and the unknown drummer is perfect. The band is very much into the performance. At some point in the set, Billy's amp malfunctions, so there is a good 5+ minutes of Ian conversing with the crowd. It's some funny stuff. Once they get the amp working again, they rip off a couple tracks for the finale. Superb live album that any self-respecting Cult fan needs. 4 stars (due to Ian's slightly weaker voice than normal)
