Had the misfortune of meeting her once. My GF at the time had wanted so badly to see her that she managed to sneak us backstage after a New York show. After getting in we got into a small group of people who were hoping to get autographs. Alannah came out with the crappiest attitude and managed to be condescending and rude. She looked at my GF and abruptly turned away telling one of her staff that there were to be no women better looking than her backstage. Well. that crushed my GF and trashed her cassette tape and CD. Like I said, not a fan.

"Black Velvet" is an all-time classic, but there are several more great songs: "Just One Kiss" is a song I repeat at least twice before I move on in my list; it's great for faantasizing about a certain someone..."Who Loves You" sounds like something out of Heart's catalog (although I always think it's too short and there should be another chorus after the stop-cold ending). and "Love Is" has some cool guitar...Alannah ROCKS with the best...LOVE her!!!!

This album is really good. Still Got This Thing & Black Velvet are definetly my favs

This album isn't terrible, but it's definately not great by any means. If you like the fiesty pop rock sound that was the early 90's this is for you. Black Velvet is a classic for sure, but this one hit wonder is just that, a one hit wonder. So, if you're looking for another smash on this cd don't waste your time and just buy Black Velvet by itself. And by the way, Keep Rockin' People!

This album is awesome! It's a lot better than I thought it would be. Alannah is like this really cool rocker chick!!!
