  • One of the best CD's

I listen to this CD and miss Dan more than ever. His music was his conscience and his conscience was right on target. This isn't musically his best effort as most fans will defer to Netherlands on that account. This however has lyrics that touch deeply and are well worth adding to your desert island collection. I would advise getting the CD however because the jacket is great reading and very insightful. You will understand why the songs sound the way they do and get another piece of Dan that you may not have gotten the first time around.

'magic every moment' is excelent I love the bass on it (played by Dan) as well as 'the minstrel' 'faces of america' 'river of souls' & 'a voice for peace'. but all the rest seem to fail to live up to these 5. this is not a bad album though but one i'd think about before buying the entire thing.

... Continues the renewed energy and eloquence Fogelberg established with his 1990 release, The Wild Places. The official iTunes review is an apt summary. Some of these tracks are quite simply inspired, including: Magic Every Moment, All There Is, The Minstrel, Faces Of America, and the title track. If The Wild Places evokes a feel of the American West, River Of Souls takes you on an almost global journey with its varied world rhythms and themes, and is a highly rewarding album experience. One of my favorites.
