I imagine this is how the group wished the song was released. Record companies release heavily edited songs to please the public. Yea, this does not sound anything like the original but I love it. Sweet!!

So first thing ths AM I went to buy it. And thank goodness I heard a preview of the re-record. they butchered a classic. I will not even spend the .99. I guess the next best version is Jesse Winchesters. Is the original lost?

This is a re-recording and not a very good one. I love the original of this song and this one sounds like cheap karoche in a small bar.

The Amazing Rhythm Aces were one of the first musical acts to appear on Saturday Night Live back in the '70s. They sang "Third Rate Romance" and "Who Will the Next fool Be". The SNL people back then had unerring taste in music and introduced me to musicians I'd never heard of but came to admire. The Aces were among them. Russell Smith, their diminutive lead vocalist is at home singing country and novelty songs, but he is also an accomplished blues vocalist whose strong voice expresses subtle, nuanced vulnerability. This album consists mostly of novelty, country and sad pop ballads. The musicianship and arrangements are flawless, but, alas, the bands best blues offerings are left out. This is an overlooked and underrated musical act - their talents far exceeding many better known goups.

by TAG78, 2/20/10 I only heard the samples but it was enough to tempt me into buying the re-recordings and some of the "country" stuff too. I lived on those albums in the 70's & 80"s and their music was part of my appreciation of real country. I let you know if I am disappointed after my purchase. I sure would like a shot at the originals!

This is a re-recording and it's horrible. The lead singer sounds like someone who's sung this song a million times and it shows. He's sloppy and lazy with the lyrics and it just doesn't have the tightness and punch of the original recording. For some reason, the original isn't listed in i-Tunes. The instrumentality is OK but the lazy vocal ruins it.

No Way is this ARA! These are not the songs I grew up with and Too Stuffed to Jump is no where to be found. What a shame.
