Very well written. Awesome music. I can relate to their music. Better then hip hop or rap because they write their own lyrics and actually play instruments, instead of pressing a button and looping the bass. Love, love, love their music.
- My favorite thrash album of all time.

If you listened to the last Trivium album and then The Crusade, you'd think you were listening to two different bands. The one that created this and Shogun was brilliant. An energetic, young thrash with flairs of old Metallica and Testament. Every song just blasts you with catchy riffs, blistering, yet melodic, solos and a nice lack of cookie monster vocals. Sadly, they've returned to the cookie monster stuff as of late and I've been completely turned off. I've been a devout metalhead since the early 80s and I was blown away when I heard The Crusade. It's brilliant. And I had really high hopes for them. Sad.
Guys, if you ever read this, please listen to what you are doing. The vocals just destroy the otherwise prodigal talent you have. Turn around and head back in the right direction. You NAILED IT with The Crusade.
- Outstanding Musicianship and Social Awareness

This is an inspiring album in that it has a social conscience and phenomenal musicianship. Many of the songs deal with the social injustice of murder (the death of Matthew Sheppard, Andrea Yates' drowning of her children, the shooting of Amadou Diallo, etc) but in a screamingly metal manner. OUTSTANDING effort.
- Really good, but not Trivium's best

This album is a thrash metal album through and through. The instrumental work in this album is top notch, and the lyrics are pretty good for the most part. If you like Metallica, definitely get this album.

This is trivium at their best. Matt lets his hands go the whole album. If you miss the old Metallica, this is the album to buy.

I have listened to Trivium for so many years. At first I was very judgmental about this album.. But once I listened to it.. It became insanely catchy. Yes there is barely any screaming but it really let's you appreciate Matt's voice. He is not a carbon copy of Hetfield although it seems like it. This is Trivium with pure Thrash and brutality. Appreciate the masterpiece this album is. Trust me, buy it.
- Amazing album!!!!!!

This is one of my favorite albums ever one of my top 10. I would have 2 say there my favorite metal band right now. Huge Metallica fan so of course they sound like them. I think Matt is a brilliant musician. I think if they keep it up they will go far. Stop being negative of them if u don't like them don't listen to them. I think ppl are crazy when say they can't write music I dare u to do better!!!!

The whole album sounds a lot like Metallica , just lacking great music ideas, unlike Metallica
It's not a bad thrash metal album though...we will probably never hear anything code to master of puppets, or rust in peace....
But it's not a bad record
