I always felt that Gorguts' sophomore release, Erosion of Sanity, was one of the more underrated albums to come out of the early 90s death metal scene. This is understandable, because it is sandwiched between two death metal monsters, Considered Dead and Obscura. This seems to be a blending of the two releases, and shows Gorguts progressing into a more techinical band. It retains the catchy, headbang-friendly qualities of the debut (Orphans of Sickness!!), while experimenting with the mind-bending technicality of the band's later releases(Condemned To Obscurity and A Path Beyond Premonition). This is the most varied and catchy Gorguts release, and makes Considered Dead looks like child's play. BUY OR DIE!
