    This album is a must for any fan of the folk blues. The traditional fife and drum style music goes back to pre civil war days, and its roots are evident in Africa before that. There is something magical about these recordings.

    This is the most moving record I've herad in ages. It embraces all that is american its high notes and its deep and painful roots. Using instruments most associate with the civil war (Fife & Drum) this stretches far beyond that narrative.
