  • Incomplete repackaged missing “Prefect”

This is not the original album. The last track Prefect has been removed. Either Matt Johnson did it or iTunes? Greedy. Ruined a “Prefect” classic 80’s album.

Matt Johnson's music has got me through all these years. This album is fantastic, the lyric's are amazing. The original cassette version had six extra songs, lost now i fear. 3 orange kisses from Kazan springs to mind

i first heard this album around 1985 and i wasn't too sure about it. probably took me a good 3 years to mature enough to understand how genius this album is, start to finish, every note, every word. 30 years later and it still reverberates to the core of me.

Matt Johnson's masterpiece. This is a perfect album. It will cause you to self reflect on life and your being. Listen to it over and over again. Turn the lights down and get moved.

First let me give props to Sirius/XM for providing the music that otherwise I would never be exposed to. Case in Point, "The The" re: Soul Mining. I love the music of the 80's and there is so much more music for me to discover that it has impassioned me to continue to search for other fantastic musicians of the decade. Here I am a child of the 70's and it took until 2014 for me hear this outstanding album. I am simply overwhelmed by the genius of this album. "This is the Day" when I first heard it overwhelmed me. I couldn't believe I missed this when it first came out. I then purchased it online and heard the entire album including "Perfect" and its genius continues to impress me. I could go over each song, but I would fail to impress upon you the shear genius of the album I finally discovered. Do yourself a favor and take a listen. The music drought of the 90's and early 2000's has finally subsided and some really great music is coming out. However, there are still numerous artists to discover from the past that deserve to be discovered. "The The" is one of those artist's. I won't pretend to know much about the group, although I can Google it, which I will. But I know one thing this group was ahead of its time and I feel fortunate to have finally found it. Thanks for the time.
  • Not quite "Perfect?"

Astounded that "Perfect" is still excluded from this brilliant work by Matt Johnson! Can't really call this a "classic" without it.
  • Excellent tune- 'uncertain smile'

This song makes me want to dance every time I hear it! I never get tired of hearing it. I rate is as excellent!
  • Almost Perfect, except it's missing

This is one of the greatest albums of the 80's and the songs here are better than the remixes on others. Unfortunately, one of it's greatest songs, Perfect, is missing, as is the original artwork on the cover. Remix versions of Perfect do not do the song justice! Versions of Uncertain Smile and This is the Day are best on this disc too. Must have for your 80's collection.
