The perfect Priest LP...Every track is an absolute killer and it is, to my ears, the first true incarnation of the classic Priest sound...As great as "Sin After Sin" is, this is the first complete Lp where they left behind all of their influences and realized their own unique sound. "Stained Class" is a truly seminal recording...and unsurprisingly, it is the first to feature my favorite Priest line-up with the incredible Les Binks on drums...
- Pretty solid but not great.

The cover is terrific and my favorite thing about the album. As for the songs themselves, I don't think they are as good as the songs on the two previous albums. Still, the playing is tight, Rob Halford is in great singing form and there are some gems to be found here, like Better By You, Better Than Me, Stained Class, Invader and Savage. The only dud here is Saints In Hell, which I find unintentionally funny! This is also the only Judas Priest album where all five members receive writing credits, even bassist Ian Hill. A solid album.
- Underrated

By far their tightest album pre-Painkiller. You'll never another album like this from the Priest. Sure Hell Bent For Leather and British Steel sold more and influenced more, but Stained Class is one of the few Priest albums that isn't half good and half filler. From the proto-speed metal of Exciter, to the incredibly dark and emotional Beyond The Realms of Death, this album is hands down the best metal album of the late 70's.

Put me on a desert island with just Stained Class and a set of headphones. If you’ve heard the hits, dug ’em and really want to expand your Priest library, start here. There is not a single hit on the album, but if you listen in its entirety, you’ll realize that from top to bottom, it’s probably their strongest, darkest, and heaviest album. Classic Priest - nothing comes close.
