This is my favorite Judas Priest album. Not straight on metal, but great rock! My favorite song is Desert Plains. Saw them live in Spokane This song just blew my mind. The drums!

Yes, this terrific record was the follow-up to the band's huge commerical breakthrough "British Steel". However, as a fan of the band, I found "British Steel" quite disappointing when it came out and thought that "Point of Entry" was a definite improvement (FYI- my favorite era of the band is 1976-1979...and there is only one track on this LP that I don't dig). While it is stylistically closest to "British Steel" in the Priest catalog, I think the songs are qualitatively much better on "Point of Entry" (and I have always been puzzled by the folks who say this was a weak follow-up to "British Steel"???). Their next two LPs "Screaming for Vengeance" and "Defenders of the Faith" would be the highwater marks of the 80's...

This is the first Priest album I had ever heard! It was the summer of ‘81 and a friend had his stereo wired to play through his Marshall cabinet in this small bedroom.....he put the record on the turntable and I was BLOWN AWAY!! The opening track smoked my brain!! All I could think about was Priest for the next year!!! Awesome rock album especially at high volume!! Best Priest was from ‘75-‘82 in my opinion with the exception of Painkiller in ‘90.

This is a great lp, a little different but great rock and roll-Dont go-Solar Angels- Turning Circles-Heading out to the highway -Fantastic!!!

In the same vein as it's predecessor British Steel but not as good and it has it's share of filler tracks. I still like it a bunch, though and I think half of the album is great, which includes Heading Out To The Highway and the middle of the album with the songs Turning Circles, Desert Plains, Solar Angels and You Say Yes. Ian Hill's bass is even more prominent in the mix than on British Steel, which is not a complaint. I also really like the front and back covers. Very artsy and kind of mysterious. I'm referring to the original U.S. cover, by the way. Cool album.

I love this album. Some of their best work here. Tracks like Desert Plains, Solar Angels and the ultra classic Heading Out to the Highway are some of the standout tunes here. Grab a copy. It's Priest nuff said!
