Wonderfully moody and melodic, Derrick Brown's voice calls to you like an old friend swapping stories on a late night drive. Songs like "Everyone Dies (in my movies)" and "How to Kill Your Writing" are beautifully somber tunes of simple truths. They bring a smile to my face no matter how many times I hear them.

This is one of those records that will break your heart, kick you in the pants, spit in your face... and that's just the first song! It's an incredible lyrical journey, passionate songs, ethereal guitars, wonderful vocals... great for a long night of reflection and debate. Don't expect this to be a "listen and put it on the shelf" album. You'll need to dig into this one, DEEP, over and over and over and...
Simply put, one of the most thought-provoking, honest and powerful records to come out in a long time! Well worth a listen or twelve!!! NOTE: This album is not Britney Spears, but more like Britney Spears' mother as an alcoholic and chain smoker! :-)

Buy this album immediately, then listen to it while riding a bike through the neighborhood you grew up in...it will wake you up inside. ABC's first EP is charged with riffs that will wrap the steel strings of his guitar around your eyelids and flutter you into REM. The dream is full of pain, poetry, and everything that scares us to life.

This album is one that you plan to listen to. You are lured in with catchy tunes; then inticed and swayed by the lyrics. The discriptions and metaphors are like chap stick to chapped lips. If you do not enjoy this, then walk around with cracked lips.

Even more than their last EP, ABC took some artistic leaps and came out looking like acrobats. These are sweet, intimate songs. But be warned, they still drop kick you some rock every once in a while.
- Music worth having

I love a good song. A great CD. For me they become the ones I pull out when I know I'm going to be on the road traveling through those areas of the country that deserve a song. The type of song that enhances the beauty and sound and feeling of those miles. The type of song that no matter where you are it can take you to another place. This is one of those CD's and it's full of those type of songs. BUY IT! Derrick's vocals convey a truth and beauty that will make whatever your doing better. Thanks All Black Cinema. Next week I'll be heading home for Thanksgiving and this CD will make some part of that highway a memorable one.
