great album but its missing one very IMPORTANT trucking song.....best trucker song from #1 trucker movie of 1977-1980....."East Bound and Down" from "Smokey and the Bandit"......great song. this album rocks though.

this is the premiere truckin' tunes compilation. I can't get enough and i really don't like most country music.

Finding this album was a great nostalgic find. My dad and I used to listen to these tunes on "Rhino" vinyl when I was a kid and sometimes I still get ear-worm with a couple of them. The songs on this album are just plain, simple mostly clean fun that I can share with my kids now, 30 years later without worrying about raunchy lyrics or any political junk mucking up a good song. This is a great album for anyone who likes "old style" country & western or just a great song to sing along with.

It is a digitization of the cassette version I bought at a truckstop years ago... and is in fact missing songs from the original vinyl version... you still may want to hunt down a hard copy simply for the pretty album cover.
  • Could be 5 stars, but it's missing a few songs

The biggest one I can think of is Dick Curless' "A Tombstone Every Mile". Many others would have been nice on this album, but that, and a few others, are definitely missing. Well, you can't have them all, on one album.

Great classic album, but it is missing a song. "The Gearjammer and the HOBO" by Red Sovine. Side B - Volume 1 Track five on the vinyl album.
