  • Long Distance Goodbye

I am thoroughly disappointed in the fact that I cannot purchase "Long Distance Goodbye" as it is a track I feel especially close to and would like on my iPhone. Other than that, this movie's score is gorgeous. One of my absolute favorites, hands down.

  • Great if real instruments

When I try to listen to the music, I'm distracted by thoughts of how much more powerful the music would be if it were performed by real instruments - not synthesizers! The music is inherently strong and emotive, especially the central theme; as such I see no reason why this shouldn't have been scored for real instruments instead of synthesizers.
  • Great Soundtrack!

I know that people will hate on the movie itself, but the soundtrack is seriously AMAZING! You can literally fell the emotions when you are listening to the soundtrack. I know that I may not be one to judge, since I like listening to soundtracks while I study, but I will tell you from someone who has listened to some great soundtracks, at least in my mind (from Hans Zimmer in the Pirates movies, Gladiator, plus so many more to Steve Joblonsky in the Trabsformers movies to Trevor Rabin the the National Treasure Movies and yours truly . . . Armageddon!). When "Harry and Grace Make Peace" come on, you can literally see them making ammends; and in pieces of "AJ's return", you can seriously feel how happy Grace (Live Tyler) is for knowing that her fiance who she thought was dead is actually alive. Although, I have to say that my favorites are "Armageddon Suite" and "Armageddon Pinao". I'm not that sappy of a person but everytime I see this movie I cry; yet it is one of my favorites :)

The Armageddon soundtrack, along with the movie, is outstanding and moving. Is an excellent buy, my favorite songs, Launch and Harry & Grace Make Peace
  • Better than National Treasure

I kept reading reviewers compare Rabin's work with National Treasure, somehow indicating that it doesn't measure up. I completely disagree. I find this composition with much more feeling and depth. The highs are over the top, and the lows are sweet and pogniant. Throwing in some classic Rabin lead guitar was a nice touch as well. I find The Launch particularly arousing. Great on the ipod while running.

Just saw the ending of this movie on tv. I gotta admit i almost cried...heheh. I already had the songs Launch and Death of a MIR, but i never actually seen the movie and the parts that they are played on. Trevor Rabin composed this score so well to fit it. But i am a little disappointed that the most emotional part of the movie (Long Distance Goodbye/Landing) is album only. haha.

As much as I love Trevor Rabin's work, I must say that the music is just okay. The movie was terrible, and I must admit that that had some influence on my rating. HATED THE MOVIE!!!!!! (sorry, just needed to get that out.) The music is good, but it isn't as wonderful as his music for National Treasure (and National Treasure 2). I LOVE those soundtracks, but Armageddon is definitely not up to National Treasure standards. . .
