    As a little girl I listened to Derric Johnson's ReGeneration In Velvet albums over and over until the vinyls were warped, then on cassettes until the tape broke. I've always been stunned by the lyricism of Johnson's writing, especially noted on "The First Noel" as he describes what heaven may have been like right before the first Christmas. The voices in the orchestra are astounding, and the way Johnson arranges is incredible, allowing his coloratura sopranos to gently dust the stars with their high notes and letting his basses provide such a rich foundation. They made me want to be a better singer, and for that I will always be grateful. I'm so glad to see these albums available on iTunes. It's time for the next generation to experience this style of music.

    I remember many of these songs from an old LP that I actually wore out listening to these amazing voices. The range is absolutely incredible! If you like a capella music, pick up this CD and truly enjoy the sounds of Christmas.
