.."My Love For Her Takin' Such A Long Time To Die!"..Yes; Good People; "Masked And Anonymous" is one more Peculiar Puzzle in the Mystery of The Man Himself; Bob Dylan!-{You can reasonably compare "Masked" to "I'm Not There": Both films treat Dylan's Music reverently and take a True Fan's pleasure in matching up A Visual Scene with an Audio Clue; Both movies are Confusing & Complicated; But; Ultimately Rewarding; For the rabid "Bobcat" or Not!}-Bob Dylan Himself portrays the mysterious "Jack Fate"; And the best scenes are the ones where he appears in the Barroom with his very own "Cover Band"; "Simple Twist Of Fate!"-Choice Covers of Dylan's Classic Songs; Done up by an International Cast of Amazing Musicians!-(See This Movie!)-"If You Dig Bobby D.; You'll Get It; Man!"...by Grimmbo.

*Masked and Anonymous* careened like a dark cinematic train through a slice of the post-9/11 world, presenting a United States broken down into a surreal banana republic filled with all kinds of wreckage from all kinds of cultures. It's Desolation Row by way of Highway 61, winding up in an elegaic nightmare of squandered human possibility and the triumph of raw worldly power. Love is a memory; hope is a memory; the present is a memory. Through this world strides Bob Dylan as Jack Fate, Bob Dylan as the downfallen son of the world's dictator, rescued from the prison where he seems to spend his days for a futile attempt at a musical benefit for world peace. They can't get anyone else. The only music in the world of *Masked and Anonymous* is Bob Dylan's, but it is Dylan's music interpreted from wildly diverse voices of a world blessed with a plenitude of tongues. There's really no way to communicate how magnificent this music is. Take a gander at the tunes and the artists, then jump. Bob Dylan's gift is the offering of an entire world transfigured by the glorious torment of his spirit, a world with voices beyond him, interacting with him but, by the grace of God, carrying on in different realms of possibility.
