This album is one of the greatest records ever made, by one of the greatest songwriters and musicians ever. Laura Nyro is finally getting her due, so many years after her passing. I've been listening to her since 1968 and she has enriched my life.

Laura never got the credit she deserved but the truth is that the credit due is shown by the many who truly appreciate her talent and contribution. The voice, the piano, the songs and arrangements. One of a kind!

I had heard a track from "Eli" on one of the first "Underground Radio" programs in Boston and ran right out to purchase the album. That first pressing had a lyric sheet scented with a floral fragrance. I can't think of a better image to express the depth and style that was Laura Nyro.

Laura Nyro was the quintessential songstress. She projected life in magnificent vignettes. A powerful performer who will forever stand as a truly unique talent. she is as free a spirit as One may encounter in a lifetime. This is a deep-revealing record that puts you at the absolute pinnacle of Laura’s musical prowess. A raw-exposed honest sharing of the essence of a truly gifted artist. God bless her for the gifts she has left for the discerning to marvel and enjoy.

I was introduced to Laura Nyro due to the book and movie, "A Home at the End of the World," and the more I keep listening to Laura Nyro, the more I am falling in love with her song writing, music, and talent. Nyro was not just a gift to the world, but an enormous blessing. Her music has definitely left an imprint in my life and her music continues to inspire me through my life. If it was possible, I would give this album a 10 out of 5, because this artist and album is that good.

Have you played an artist so much you had to buy a new album. Or couldn't wait until they came out with their next album. Laura Nyro went to places other artists had never explored. She enticed you with the smoothness of her voice, the range of emotion she took you too, and left you wanting more. I was a Laura Nyro addict. So happy I can put her on my playlist, still be my BFS. CONGRATS on being inducted to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame!

I learned about Laura Nyro while watching the David Geffen documentary on PBS recently. All I can say is "Wow!" These recordings are amazing. Even though others have had hits with some of these songs, those recordings can't match Ms. Nyro's performances. I was especially blown away by the opening of "Eli's Comin'" when she slides to that high note 20 seconds in. Songs on this album will remind you of Carole King, Rickie Lee Jones, Todd Rundgren, Kate Bush and Tori Amos. The funny thing is that it was released in 1968. To think that, for people like me, this album has been hiding in obscurity -- well, it makes me sad. If you haven't heard this, don't wait any longer.

Recently ran through some old Rundgren material and read he was influenced by Laura Nyro's songwriting, so I bought this and it has been in my rotation constantly. Her music is so full of feeling and interesting to listen to. It astounds me how she has been unknown to me for all these years, such talent and depth - as good or better than other singer songwriters of the era. This is an essential recording.

Let's not forget the hits the group "The Fifth Dimension" had with Laura Nyro's songs. There was a recent tribute to her in NYC at Lincoln Center. After over 40 years her songs still resonate. Time and love -- her music is pure poetry.
