I've listened to it everyday. Not listened to it 6 months, maybe more, and then took another listen (its been out for a while so i've done this cycle a few times) - and its still my personal Vai favorite.
I know Passion and Warefare is Vai's most celebrated album but it really doesn't do it for me the way this one does. It's so original sounding, fresh, almost mystical (don't laugh). An under rated album (I would say vai's only 5 star album along with passion)
- One of the best underrated "rock" albums of 2005

His best next to PAW in my opinion.
Last track is just icing on this big beautiful space cake.

Musical and virtuostic genious. Each song tells its own story, and together they are breathtaking. Music can change the quality of your life forever, and this album has changed mine.
- Not great but good...

If you get only one track, as you can see from the other reviews is "Building the Church". If the rest of the album was as solid and powerful as this, it would get 6 stars. Another one to check out is "Yai Yai", a totally offbeat sound exploration using a talk box is quirky and I personally love it. You won't spend a better 99 cents on Building, and hell, take a chance on Yai Yai. I think you will not be disappointed.

Beautiful and intense. This album is pretty much perfect.
- Building the Church ok, but...

...the rest of the album is just not my style of listening. It comes off as a bit operatic for me.
- Good Stuff

To me, the two best songs are Building the Church and Lotus Feet. The other songs are good but Steve's voice isn't the best. Still, good stuff.
- BUILDING THE ALBUM.

Overall this album did not stick for me with the exeption of Track One (Building the Church). Track one is off the hook! Unbelievable two-handed tapping and the deep rhythm guitar groove is infectious to me. I can't get it out of my head and the use of the whammy pedal creating those squealing notes is wicked hot.

Just listen. The singing has a bit to be desired though. The man is on a mission.
