I have very fond memories of this album and the time in which it came out. I'm very nostalgic for the 90's, it's music and it's culture. This is a good snapshot from that point in time, and it doesn't hurt that FNM is one of my favorite bands. Each album was unique and had something different to offer. This one was no different.

If you love metal, anxiety, multi-culturism, and talented rockers this is your FNM release. The only album with Mr Bungle's guitarist and it's a shame he wasn't able to become a permanent member (no offense). Patton's vocals soar, scream, swoon, and croon. Never gets old.

I remember buying this when it came out and I didn't understand it and pretty much forgot about it. After a couple of years I gave it another try and it has became one of my favorite albums. So many songs on here in different genres. Funk, soul, metal, crooners. I find it odd that after Jim Martin was kicked out they released in my opinion their heaviest guitar album. And Pattons vocal work is second to none. And as a bass player this is THE album for a great bass tone, sounds like a chainsaw.
- Fantastic

I actually like King for a Day more than Angel Dust. It's a great album that defies genre but remains easily listenable. Rock, metal, gospel, jazz, lounge, country, and smooth latin influences a fantastic album from a criminally pigeonholed and overlooked band.

...if you don't have this album. By far FNM's best. (sorry Angle Dust, you're just not as good)

Been a fan since Courtney Love and Chuck Moseley were fronting the band. IMHO, Mika Patton is one of the most amazing, most underrated vocalists of all time. I was always listening to Angel Dust, The Real Thing, and the last one Album of the year. Then I saw the albu, I had been hunting for for over 2 years King for a Day. I admit at first I was kinda indifferent towards it, then as I kept listening I realized it is their finest work. Just my opinion.
