This might be my favorite Strait work since 2013's Love Is Everything. This album is heavy on acoustic guitar from start to finish, more so than I can recall offhand in any of his albums. The opening number was surely inspired by Bogie's famous quip. Never thought I'd hear Strait do Waymore's Blues. As a big fan of Bogie and Ol' Hoss, those were treats for me. There's some fun stuff, some contemplative stuff, and some stuff here to remind us we're not alone when things go wrong. I think I played this five times in a row the night it dropped. I was singing along by the fourth spin.
