When I was 13 Deep Purple put out Perfect Strangers, the entire album, every song is just perfection, this new album does not disappoint, Mr Gillan sounds great(79 Aug/19/24) I’m hoping by the time I get to his age I’ll still be able to cut my grass & these men are touring, awesome, just awesome… can not go wrong with this album… be well Rock N Rollers….

I have listened to this nonstop since purchasing it. The guys are on top of their game with a sound that heartens back to their ‘70s classics, yet fresh and exciting. These consummate musicians effortlessly display their instrumental and vocal chops. This is not to be missed.

I've listened to the whole album several times, and I rather like it. Simon McBride is a talented guitarist and while he brings his own style to the band, he does start to kick it back in Balckmore's style on "Bleeding Obvious." "Portable Door" is classic Deep Purple and there are a number of really classical tracks here. It's all good, and like Deep Purple back to 1968, there's a good mix of styles. If this is Deep Purple coming back, I'm all for it!

What a career these guys have had. Ian P, Ian G, and Roger have to be thrilled with the results of this album. Killer guitar and equally good keyboards make this one of their best group of songs ever. I'm a big Steve Morse fan and so sorry he had to leave. Simon is a stellar addition to this band that just keeps on making great music. Love it!!!

I loved the Morse era. Steve is a brilliant musician. The thing is, McBride is just a better fit for the band. There isn’t a song on this album I don’t like. His riffs are more like the original Mark II. I also find it refreshing that Ian Gillan is finally accepting that he isn’t in his 20’s anymore, but he can still write and sing without pushing his voice to the limit. It really helps the overall sound of the band. In my opinion, this is the best Deep Purple since Purpendicular!

Grew up with Deep Purple, new music is fine, just don't like the whiney voice of their new lead singer. Maybe it will grow on me?

This album is possibly the best one Deep Purple has ever released. No there’s no Smoke On the Water or Child In Time but I love this album more than Machine Head because it elevates me more energetically. I find this guitarist has better riffs than Blackmore overall. This is the most awesome album they’ve released and I wasn’t expecting this after the album of covers that came out not too long ago.

I've loved a few songs over the years, but it seemed to me that the original album was always the best. This album is its equal. Every song is listenable and most are excellent. I highly recommend Potable Door, Sharp Shooter, Lazy Sod and show me right off the bat. You'll like the other too. The band may look old, but they sound as young as ever!
