This whole album is fantastic, every single track on this album is great. Big L is very underrated, definitely check out The Big Picture released after his death (1999) if you haven’t already, another amazing album, gotta love Ebonics and Casualties of a Dice Game on that album. Big L is a Classic.

Big L has been my favorite rapper ever since I heard his verse on Terror Squad’s “Bring ‘Em Back”. This album is truly one from the vaults of classic hip hop, being the first studio album to showcase Big L and his incredible lyricism. If you love old-school hip hop you better have this album in your collection.

Big L is the king of the punchline, and paints a gritty story with every line he lays. One of my favorite albums ever.
  • I just realized how much I love this album

I mean, look at what’s coming out now. One of the most popular songs of 2017 was somebody saying Gucci Gang over and over agin! Where did we go wrong

I remember seeing an ad for this album in The Source and buying the cassette in little mom 'n pops music store shortly afterwards. Not knowing what I was in for, I was hooked from the moment I first heard Put It On. With the help of Buckwild's production, all 12 songs fail to disappoint as Big L's unique voice & sharp delivery along with his witty punchlines & compound-syllible combined rhymes made him one of hip-hop's greatest. Needless to say, Big L is a legend and this album is a timeless classic. Gone too soon but he lives through this album.
