M3 is back and back in a great way! While some of the songs evoke solo Butch material (how could it not? He writes the songs!) it doesn't distract from the fact that the record sounds like Butch, Jayce and Slug had the best time making it. No pressure from a record label, just make the record they want to make. Current faves are My Old School Metal Heart, Growing All My Hair Out, If We're On Fire and PTSD. I also love when Butch includes a cover because he has the talent and range to own any song he chooses. She Sheila is that latest addition - an 80's song from The Producers with that makes you sing along and/or dance, whether you choose to or not. Welcome back gentleman, we've been waiting not so patiently for you!

23 years post ReadySexGo, and it's like IV picks up were RSG left off. I first came across M3 during my shifts at the college radio station. Then down the road rediscovered Butch's solo material, only to put two and two together to have the ah-ha moment of the connection. While some of the songs do evoke solo Butch, the core essence of the album excudes that spark that differentiated M3 from their peers and further illustrates that the collective far exceeds the singular in the process of making an album. Ultimately, I rate albums not on a track by track basis, but by the flow from beginning to end. With M3's IV, it's an album that can be listened to from beginning to end. Grabbing your heart from the get-go and ending with the curtains coming down on the show.
