I love these songs, growing up my dad used to play them, I was the only one besides my teachers who new all the words to The Battle of New Orleans, I got all red in the face singing but I was still grinning. My friends find my taste in music weird, maybe it's because I only listen to Rock n' Roll and Classic Rock, and not new pop. I recommend this album to anyone it gave me enjoyment and I hope it gives you some as well!😊

I'm a 15 year old who loves this music, Johnny Horton is my favorite musician from this era. This older style music I love. It is, in my opinion better then the "country" we have today. It's definitely better than that hip hop, pop, and rap that people listen to these days. This, this is true music at its greatest.

The battle of New Orleans was the first song I heard on CD, loved his music since. I'm ecstatic to find this album on iTunes.

At first I didn't like these songs at all, but the more I listened to these songs I started to sing the songs and like them. My favorites are The battle of New Orleans and honky tonk man. This is real music.

Johnny Horton has a fabulous sultry voice that also can play with your emotions. I have the original vinyl (from my grandmother) and these digital recordings and I can't get enough of Johnny!!

Comon is there realy anyone like Johnny Horton..I mean.Singing about history? Who does that today? NO ONE. If your one of todays POP country fans then u owe it to yourself to see what real country is all about. Also Some of the songs Dont get awesome till u listen to them a few times....and then well you will keep on listening. If your a redneck...well then this is essential.
