They always seemed to live in the shadows of the Who, but the Small Faces produced some of the best pop, rock and soul ever to come out of England. Is there a better white soul record than All or Nothing? Steve Marriott has to rank right up there as one of the great voices of rock, listen to Tin Soldier, an underrated classic. Steve Marriott and Plonk Lane penned some real beauties over a few short years including Itchycoo Park, Afterglow and the brilliant cockney caper, Lazy Sunday. Lot's of interesting tracks here for the fans along with all of their aforementioned best.

I am the compiler of "Small Faces-The Immediate Years" 4-CD set. I thank you for the positive reviews. Admittedly,If I could do this set all over again, I could do much better today, but I was using the best sources that were available to me at that time. Charly Records(for whom I compiled the set) seems to have reverted back to being a licensing company(no longer a full-fledged label) and the label's existing catalogue is recycled and reissued by the "Snapper" label. Over the years, I lost contact with Charly Records. I miss several of the people from the label very much, and would welcome a chance to again work with the music of The Small Faces.
