Natalie has a beautiful voice, but the music was just boring. No catchy tunes except for Colorblind (which is a cover song, right?).

I got this album by chance it sounded good so I decided to get it. Now I must say that this is one of my all time favorite albums. Her voice is just haunting. Quicksand but the iTunes version is missing a song called Crush which is AMAZING.

... I don't hate it, but I don't really like it either. Most of the songs come off redundant and vapid. Nothing catches my attention.
  • I Miss The Depth of Daughter Darling...

I found Daughter Darling in late 2003 while surfing through CDBaby and have been a fan of Natalie ever since...in fact so much so that I had talked her and her entourage of musicians to travel up to Boston in 2004 to play at a show at The Paradise Lounge for my 40th birthday. It was a show that I will never forgot. To hear her through the marvels of digital recording is one thing to actually hear her live is quite another. She will lift you up effortlessly, let you wallow in mid-air and support you in a cosmic trippy way only she can do...and has ever done. I think if you really want to experience a better production and a better feel for who she is you owe it to yourself to listen to her on Sweet Shadows (Daughter Darling). Honestly, I will listen to anything she puts out there but when it comes down to it DD had more soul.

To only a few of my electronic/dance albums can I listen to the whole CD nonstop for days and this is most definitely one of them. Her voice is perfection and the music/lyrics are awesome!
  • Great vocals, many songs seem similar though

If you liked the song 'Circles', you may want to look into the 20th century neo-classical artist Erik Satie, espescially his Gymnopedie selection. Also very beautiful. No vocals, but very similar to the piano line from 'Circles'. Satie's also known for his Gnossienne selection, which I also recommend (I'm bias though), though they aren't as similar with this song in particular.
