This album was released back in the nineties dude... 2004-2006 was the golden age of hip hop? Please!! Those were the apex of crap music hyphe and all that unoriginal, lackluster hack S#it! This is a good, solid album though. Definitely one of the best to come out of the Bay Area.

2004-2006 was quite simply the golden age of Bay Area rap, and this album, perhaps more than any other, captures the pure brilliance of that era.
It's funny, when I first got this album I barely listened to it, in fact, I gave it away.
Then something funny happened--the beats, lyrics, flow--everything about this album began to haunt me. Trouble is back then it was nearly impossible to find this where I was, so for almost 2 years I sat without. But no matter how much I tried to forget this album, I couldn't.
Finally I got a copy, and I swear it was like striking gold. The fact is the style was so different from what I had been used to (Dr. Dre, Snoop, East Coast, Etc) that I simply didn't 'get' it at first. I was used to rappers trying to tell me had bad-a they were, how many woman they had etc,--that Quinn's format confused me at first. I needed that time away to appreciate it.
Anyway, as far as I'm concerned this album remains the single best example of what rap should be--untainted by commercialism, it shows a lyrical honesty that most rappers today shun. He's not afraid to tell us what he wants as opposed to what he has, he doesn't try to glorify his life, he just takes us along for the ride. It's a wonderfully refreshing listen, as it takes us back to when rap wasn't nearly as commercial as it is today. Think NAS's Illmatic.
What's more, JT's beats are simply phenomenal, I can listen to nothing but and still enjoy the album. Best part is, he gives us several chances to do just that.
This album used to be the definition of underground, and now here it is, on iTunes ready for all to enjoy.

This is "THE BEST" San Quinn CD! For those who are new to this cat, you don't know the pure artistry of his older stuff. What he has out now is on that hyphy tip which i'm not really feeling, but it's gettin' him in the door. He has been so stepped over by other wack rappers, now is his time to shine. That new Do Ya Thizzle.... now that's KNOCK! Classic Quinn. Lova Ya Quinn Do Ya Thizzle!
- Top to bottom West Coast classic!

And as most of you will probably be happy about, this isn't actually the clean version...
The bass-funk-heavy beats with the keyboard loops, it's classic west coast production. And San Quinn made this when he was 17...17!!! That's nuts. No wonder dude is runnin' the Bay nowadays. Legendary album.
- good stuff
