Had the great fortune to hear Pauline and her group in a pub in Dingle just last week. Unbelievable music that stretched from traditional Irish tunes to country music and folk standards. Her quiet voice and the haunting arrangements commanded the attention of a sprawling and crowded pub. Lovely.

I disagree with the comment that the demon lover has comflicting voices. If you let the music get to you, it sounds wonderfull. I love every song on this CD!
  • Almost Like Being There

Just got back from Ireland and the album was recommended there. Bought it here and can see why it's liked overseas. Almost like being in a club or pub. Brings back the feeling of Ireland.
  • "Traditional" Irish

"Her voice is a superb mix of china cup fragility and steely resilience" The Irish Times Pauline Scanlon is delightful, especially live. She is spunky and sweet on stage, and the chemistry between her and Donogh Hennessy on guitar is tangible and adds quite a spark to her songs. "Hush", her new album, is modern/traditional Irish/Celtic music, with tender vocals and heart wrenching fiddle solos. I have to say that I don't like it as much as her first CD, "Red Color Sun", which was more non-traditional...I feel as if I have heard all the songs on "Hush" before. Having said that, however, Pauline's versions are well worth having in your collection of Irish/Celtic music. Buy it!
