Brandi Carlile is a goddess. That voice! This album, as usual, amazing.

I’ve been a big fan of Brandi for several years. Was really looking forward to this album, as her previous 2 have been excellent.
Unfortunately, this effort disappoints. Other than Right in Time and Broken Horses, the rest of the songs could have been filler on any of her records. Very little energy in the writing her compared to her best songs. Maybe stretched too thin?
In any case, let’s hope the next record gets back to demanding attention rather than take-it-or-leave-it background music.

I’m a longtime fan, been riding since ‘06….and we’ve got yet another brilliant record from this band .. I love that they are exploring their musicality, refining it..and stretching it! Stretching their music out..to 4-5 minute songs. That’s what we need, longer songs, more musicality..and more Twinnies!

I’m still enthralled with this album four months after first hearing it. Brandi touches my souls, moves me like no other artist. I love this music.

Once again, she delivers a record that feels familiar yet brand new with her signature wordplay and interesting chord progressions. “Right on Time” kicks it off, it’s obviously the hit of the album and for a good reason. The definite highlight is “Broken Horses,” the best song on the album. The deep cuts on the album, while weaker then the cuts on previous records, still have that signature feel. “This Time Tomorrow” and “Sinners, Saints and Fools” are not to be missed though. Very good album, and a welcome follow up to “By the Way, I Forgive You.”

Every song a is a gem. They’re all stuck in my head at some point during the day. Honestly not sure which is my favorite. She and all the musicians on this album are national treasures.

In a vast sea of sonic diarrhea and cheap thrills for the unthinking masses this album stands out as an island. Can’t recommend it enough. Complex lyrical topics and emotionally rich melodic imagery, again not for your average bozo. Lovely piece of art IMHO. Thanks for reading-
