The iggy pop mix is incredible and the one that I grew up with. After listening to the Bowie mix and then the recent remix of the Bowie mix. There is no comparison. Iggy knew what he was doing. Just listen to penetration on the Bowie mix and then listen to the iggy pop mix. The 97 iggy pop mix destroys it. This record is blood. And awesome. A true inspiration to past and future rockers. God bless the stooges.

This album marks a very special moment in music history. As good today as it was the day it arrived in stores so many years ago.

Trust me, when you get to Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell, it's important that you turn the volume WAYYYY down! The volume level on that song in particular is deafening! Great songs, but not worth losing your hearing over.

I’m confused as to why the genre is pop… iTunes has never been good at classifying things, but pop?? this is some pure pro to-punk rock n roll, not pop. As far as i know, iggy pop was never popular, except in england and college radio stations

An all time classic album. You haven't lived until you've passed out during shake appeal and woken up to the clicking sound of the needle on the vinyl, 'cause the turntable didn't shut off…….

I've only listened to this album once, and it's already at the Top of my list of favorite albums. I always thought The Stooges were more punk, but other than there live performances. These guys are pretty down & dirty Rock N'Roll. If you call yourself a Rocker, please listen to or get this album you will love it! hoooooooo yeah.
  • Perhaps the greatest album of music ever

My personal favorite Iggy Pop album, my favorite Stooges album, one of the first great albums I've listened. Iggy Pop has a high standard with me at least, for creating great lyrics. I would suggest buying tracks 1,2,5, and 6 if you were looking to get only a few songs. Cheap for a great album, buy this now. Although I am slightly "upset" that this is considered glam rock. This is the pure definition of early punk to me. the lyrics as stated before feel as strong as words from a good Bob Dylan song.
