Liquid Soul is one of those rare bands that has it all... great musicianship, funky grooves, and catchy hooks. Great blend of Urban/Acid Jazz with latin, rock, funk and hip-hop influences that showcase the band's diversity, as well as their musical unity. Check them out live if you get the opportunity (I live in the Chicago area, so I've been lucky enough to see them many times). If you aren't buying the whole album, skip the experimental interlude tracks (4, 7, 10 ), but every other track is definitely worth the money. If you are looking for a good instrumental sampling, try 5 Finger Discount, Peanut Head, Nothing But Net and Boxer's Fracture. If you dig hip-hop/rap, and prefer vocals with music, check out Attaboy, Body and Mind or Stop.
