What can I say? Our world would be dull and colorless if it weren't for variety. I can't say that I enjoy or even understand this music... However, there is something about her album photo that made me want to give her 5 stars. Keep singing those songs Girl!

Sort of a cross between Lotte Lenya and Marlene Dietrich that's always good for me. Interesting voice and dynamically fun. Hope she continues.
  • The *other* Adele!

I bet Ms. Bloemendaal was really peeved when some 19yr-old kid came along and released two blockbuster albums under the stage name "ADELE"! But enough of the English phenom. Adele Bloemendaal is an OK singer of Dutch cabaret songs. That's it. There's nothing special here. If you want to hear someone with total mastery of the European cabaret style, go check out Ute Lemper singing Kurt Weill.

My aunts (or should I say tantes) speak Dutch, and I'm half Dutch so I can kind of understand the language. As soon as I saw this lady's last name, Bloemendaal, I knew she was Dutch and I had to check it out. I haven't listened to any of the songs, but I had to give it five stars just because I'm Dutch and I love the crazy, colorful culture. Let me help you with the titles.... 1. Well, it's still Casablanca. 2. That means "Floor Pig" 3. That means "Wait Dog" 4. That means "Good Old Scent" 5. That means "The Good Old Days Never Existed" 6. That means "Slow" 7. That means "The Sixties" (referring to the 1960s) 8. That means "Up Residence" 9. That means "The Crazies" 10. Well, that's kind of self-explanatory...Amsterdam is the capital of Holland. 11. That means "A Beautiful Evening" 12. That means "Oh My Body" (?. I'm just translating it, I didn't write it) 13. That means "Winter Song" 14. There is not an English word for that, the closest translation would be "Finger Song" but it is not the same. 15. That means "The Black Box" 16. That means "Five 12" Some of the translations might be a little off, considering I am not exactly bilingual and English is my first language, not Dutch.
