So sad to see this kindred spirit is gone after I read such a great review of his new album ‘Purple Mountain’ headlined “Long Live David Berman” by Kayleigh Hughes in ConsequenceofSound, reprinted in The Week. The kindred spirit had his own version of madness, unlike mine which is spelled Madgician, from my own forthcoming release as Kongress!

The greatest lyricist of his generation. I don’t think it’s even close truthfully. Berman lays himself bare and falls on the sword for our entertainment. Like a gladiator who’d rather talk it out than fight. Superb. Every goddamn track!

The lyrics on this album are incredibly written. It’s a great album and I gotta say I enjoyed every minute of listening to it. Will be my go to album for the foreseeable future. Thank you David Berman and Purple Mountains for the good tunes!
