😃great music in the Name of the lord. Doesn’t matter how it sounds, it’s still Christian, or there not believers.

  • Different, but Same

Yes, this album is different from Hello Hurricane & Vice Verses...also different from Fading West & Where the Light Shines Through. But Switchfoot still comes through loud and clear on each track. Take My Fire...loved hearing that last fall before the prime time college football games on ABC/ESPN. This band is the best around.

Ummmm....Switchfoot is kinda weird now. I get that practically every artist is an “unorthodox jukebox” but it has to at least sound good first! In just my opinion, Jon Foreman is singing in a pitch that doesnt really do his voice justice. Listen to the past albums and you will understand what i mean. Now he sounds really...somber and whiny. Every song has nearly the same theme and sound. Im sure other probably younger fans are eating this up but im sure SF has nearly bored and lost their 27-40ish year old fans (I’m 27). I have always liked them for standing out in the alternative and faith based industries but now this just really sounds like...a sad youth pastor. I am SOO sorry! But i stopped listening to them after Hello Hurricane/Vice Verses. The only positive thing i can say is Jon Foreman writes really, really well

Switchfoot has always been one of the most diverse and unique acts in the modern arena of Christian Rock. And this album is a true expression of the creativity and innovative musical craft and lyrical genius of Jon Foreman and friends. ‘Prodigal Soul,’ ‘Native Tongue’ and ‘The Hardest Art’ are my favorite songs on this record.

It’s a very good album it gets you moving and pumped up more for the Lord God Jesus Christ Almighty King and it’s one of those albums that you can get tired of listening to

I love how everyone says this is a shift in style. Not really. I've listened to Jon Foreman sing stuff like this for years. Switchfoot has always been pop with some guitar. Not hearing the guitar so much yet, but it works. Sounds similar to their Fading West album. Listen closely, the chord progressions are straight from the initial Switchfoot big hit records. The song Let It Happen is a slight variation of Dare You To Move.

Just when you think Switchfoot can’t get any better, they drop an album like this one. Jon Foreman has to be one of the greatest and most soulful lyricists of our time, if not of all time. They really did a fantastic job with this one.

What can I say. This album really does showcase the best of what Switchfoot is. This band always does things that they haven’t done before, but still keep their heart / roots intact. Listen to it. It will make you dance, cry, head-bang, and fall in love with Switchfoot all over again!
