Very Effective

We were given a spooky ‘problem’ cat by a family that was too noisy and rambunctious for it, with four black labs. She spent most of her life hiding from them, so she had a strong ‘fight or flight’ reaction. I downloaded several albums of cat music to help her calm down. Of all the ones I tried, this album and the other on one by David Teie were the most effective. She seems to find peace and security in listening to these soothing, but not generic, strings, little violin-like cat sounds, and purrs. They appeal to her and she drifts off to sleep, even with me in the room. She’s somehow able to find her cat-center in this music, so it helps her to experience what it’s like to be a cat, which I’m not certain she was able to really be, as odd as that sounds.
