Humans (Album Made In 24 Hours)

Spose always delivers and he doesn't suffer lyrically or creatively despite the artificial deadline he put on creating this album in just 24 hours. It's a true testament to just how powerful creative discipline can be. Well done, Spose and crew!

Maine-bred emcee Spose (Ryan Peters) claims to have made Humans, his third album of 2017, in twenty-four hours but the planning behind it probably took much longer. An exhibition that (on the surface at least) proves the P. Dank crew masters at project execution, Humans is another example of the fine offerings typical of hip-hop’s artistic underground, which is outside the jurisdiction of major labels. Spose’s established style recreation, standard loyalty to the music rules and too few wow-moments pull Humans back from perfection, but melodic hooks, musical beats, good guests and solid concepts place it above the average. Intro track “Humans” is a must listen but the entire ten track set is surely no waste of time either.

You wouldn’t know by listening to it that this entire album was written and recorded in less than 24 hrs. Spose busts another dope album out with that started with a concept and included a ton of Maine musicians. Spose continues to amaze and awe!

I have been hyped since the announcement by Spose maybe two weeks back. I stayed up to the release on a school night (what a savage) and now I am listening to it while writing this review. So far, it is great to listen and a lot of clever rhymes and beats. Also, he said that there are about 40 people helping him which is hard to have in one place at one time. Hope this album does really well and Spose gets the recognition he deserves!
