Sounds a lot like the great airy singer for Chapterhouse. Anyone looking at this album will also like Chapterhouse
- Very pretty, but it's been done

This is just a rehashing of early 90s music from the likes of Ocean Blue, Ride, Slowdive, Lush and more.
Those are fine bands to emulate, but to just sort of ape the musical and production exactly is a little much for me...
- Shoegaze with a little extra...

I found daysleepers from another band (Airiel) and after hearing a few free tracks I immediately fell in love with their sound. Reminds me much of Slowdive but with a newer feel to it. This EP is my favorite. Threnody starts everything off right and ends with Big Sleep which could be my favorite track from them (though I really couldn't choose a favorite from them). Loved by the Sun is an azingly good song as well. Anyhow, check them out...start here... and enjoy.

accidentally ran into this band and glad i did. i'm a big fan of the radio dept and had heard that the daysleepers were somewhat similar to them. i grew up listening to the original shoegaze or whatever you want to call it music back in the day and i'm enjoying the new batch of bands that are continuing the tradition of great music. thanks guys.

Me, I'm new to this shoegaze thing but this is truly a beautifully crafted album, very nice. Lite, poppy with a bit of depth.

Too few are the times when one stumbles onto an evocative name, at least one evocative enough to warrant greater scrutiny, only to be rewarded at each subsequent turn by curiosity. Such is the case with this particular album. The name "Daysleepers" caught my eye as I was searching for shoegaze bands. Once snared by the name, I was further intrigued by the album's cover, and as I listened to the samples on iTunes I was not disappointed.
This is a wonderful album from beginning to end. Once I start listening to it, I'm usually a prisoner of its images for a few days. Whether used as ambience or a vehicle for active listening, the experience is rewarding. The melodies are haunting, and the images conjured are like taking a trip to a strange and beautiful place.
If you're a fan of shoegaze, buy with confidence.

This EP is one of those incredible iTunes finds. I have no idea who these guys are, and downloaded this sort of on a whim, but I absolutely don't regret it. Beautiful and eerie, with soaring vocals, dense climactic guitars, and almost Sigur Ros-esque melodies that slowly enter your subconscious mind, this EP (and the slightly more rock-oriented companion EP the Soft Attack) can't be appreciated in 30-second bits. But I find myself turning to it more and more on those cold winter mornings. Download it and you'll see what I mean; the song "Big Sleep" alone is absolutely worth it.
- A nice but unimpressive swirl of sound

For fans of the dream-pop/shoegaze genre, this release probably won't disappoint, but it just doesn't have anything that sets the band apart. It's a fair sounding EP with it's dreamy soundscapes, but these tracks could have easily been made by any of the many bands of the genre.
- Easily One of the Best Nu-Gaze Bands

this is a "must own" ep (and the other one by these guys). all the things you expect, trippy delayed guitar, smooth base lines, reverb, soft mellow vocals.....it's all right here. it truely does have a retro "disintegration" and "souvlaki" style, but done soo well that it puts itself in the same realm, not a "tried to sound like" disappointment. cannot wait for thier full length due out in spring 2008

i found this band while looking for 'loved by the sun' by tangerine dream and was hooked only 10 seconds into the 30 second preview. the music is undeniably beautiful and it just feels so...good. the music is passionate and etheriel and goregeous and so much more. this is what dreams sound like. sitting in a darkened, quite room with this music floating through the stereo makes me fall in love with music all over again.
