I love this so much. Definitely explicit content. I have watched the musical live twice and this is such a great and funny play list. I have a returned missionary son and he enjoys most of the songs. The writers did their homework by interviewing return missionaries and it shows! Give it a listen.

My favorite Broadway show. The Church of Latter Day Saints even took out ad space in The Book of Mormons playbill!
  • FUNNY AND HILARIOUSLY GOOD!

This cast recording is very good that makes you laugh with joy! It’s no wonder why it’s “THE FUNNIEST MUSICAL ON BROADWAY!”

As a musician myself, it more than a little infuriating how incredibly talented Trey Parker is at music composition. He’s been making musicals since the beginning, but this tops everything. “I believe” is actually pretty moving, and “turn it off” is sheer genius. Really hope I can see it someday.
  • Inaccurate, Profane, and Hilarious

I’m a member of the church and this play is incredible if you can ignore the inaccuracies and profanity and just enjoy the satire of the culture of missions. And, clearly, if you want to know more of the accuracies of the Book of Mormon and the church, just look for those two Elders and ask them questions :)

Please, please, please speak with some missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to discover what is true, and what is not, regarding our church. There’s no harm in asking! Your knowledge will be more full, and you will develop a broader understanding of cultures that will only be a benefit to you! Just one conversation!

This musical was the best thing I have ever seen in my whole life. I went to New York just last week and this was by FAR the most memorable and definitely my favorite thing I did!! I have seen many musicals but this is truly a step above— and the songs are SO CATCHY!! I’m going to be singing these to myself for the rest of my life :) Funniest show on broadway (or anywhere else for that matter??) and the best songs I have ever heard; INCREDIBLE (ha get it?) vocals singing songs with the funniest and raunchiest lyrics I’ve ever heard, and at the same time incredibly inspiring and good-spirited. It was amazing.
