Words are indufficient to describe the complex interplay of complexity, restraint, and grinding electric bombast that circle in every rightening and then expanding spirals of sonic majesty.
  • Mind blowingly awesome

I don't know how else I would describe this album. Every single song is a musical masterpiece, and because of that this album deserves to be considered one of the best rock albums of the 2010s. Elder is simply an incredible band, and they absolutely deserve to be heard. I cannot recommend 'Reflections Of A Floating World' enough.
  • How do they keep doing it?

This is the album of 2017. Elder continues to push forward in unexpected and unpredictable directions as they continue to evolve as a band. Reflections is heavy, beautiful and entralling. In one word...masterpiece.

AOTY. Lore was 11/10, this is 15/10.

what a metamorphasis of this band. Love it all. As with most of their relases I find it great music to work to....and repeat over and over. I built my garage to DRS. This release is the most melodic to date. If new to the band and like a heavy sound then start with DRS or spires/release. If into melody stuff then get Lore first. This one takes a few listens to get really hooked....and now I have listened to it about 50 times already.
  • Elder consistently delivers

Prog, Doom, Ambient, maybe speckled with Sludge, this metal is certainly a satisfying mutt hybrid of many pieces. I hear elements of At the Drive In, Crack the Skye, even Fugazi and Hendrix at moments. Elder uniquely combines and builds on giants who came before, and consistently builds on their own catalogue. I can't stop listening to this album!
  • Worthy sequel to Lore

Elder are doing what they do best here, while offering soaring crescendos to top off their dynamic structures and mammoth-length songs.
  • Very Solid, but not great

Thematically this really contunes where lore left off,and it is often intoxicating and melodic, coupled with the savage quality Elder is known for. Very much a progressive album and branching away from "stoner metal", Doom or desert rock sounds of old I would also stop short of calling this any kind of sell-out vibe either. The songs, however, sometime lack a second gear, failing to provide the hard riff moments and up tempo interludes of the prior albums. As such, I found the songs more dreamy and meandering, albeit forgettable, and less epic. Still, its a very good album and highly recommended.
  • Yup its great....but it takes a few listens

I love this record....now. I'm used to very long form heavy records, but I think the many musical changes (prog if you like) of this threw me at first. I knew right away it would take a few listens to understand, and I kept coming back to it....naturally. Sure, I checked it out on YT and it passed the multiple listen tests: if I keep listening to it I buy it and what can be fairer than that? Its a grower....a big one. Enjoy.

From their first release, every album is better than the last - and not one of them are bad.
