I saw these guys about 5 times in Dallas from 90 to 96, this is still there best work and the tour was awesome. I think it was at slip disk, not sure so chime in if so. This album is a must get if your a fan of solid melocic sing alongs that puts smiles on your face everytime you turn it on.

There is no words to describe this masterpiece. The first record of any band I did not skip one song.A very well written album. If you only get one ALL album this is the one to get.

This album blew my mind in '89 when I was in 6th grade and it sill blows my mind today. For sure my favorite ALL record, Breaking Things being #2. This is for sure their most focused and consistent album. Buy now.

It's a nicely done pop rock album without BS. Enjoy!
  • The best of ALL

This is ALL at its pinnacle. Sweet, scary, sad...the bass lines going in every direction, the heart strings thumping, and the melody pulling you through the heartbreak. It doesn't always make sense, but that's what love and growing up is all about. ALL captured what being in your early 20s is all about in this album, and it holds up really well after all this time. If you're new to ALL and not sure where to start, this is the entry album. You'll understand all the earlier stuff and most of the later albums from listening to this one over and over.

This album set the pace for every other ALL album as far as I'm concerned. It's bubblegum punk but intense and one of the first ALL albums that I ever heard. Allroy's Revenge encapsulated all of my teenage emotions and put words to things that I could relate to with music that was fast and fun - especially 'Bubblegum' (hmmm...), 'She's My Ex', 'Box', 'Mary', and 'No Traffic'.

I will never forget the day I bought this album at a little record shop in the midwest. I had heard the Descendents (without Milo) had a new banned called ALL, and I was a fan of them ever since I put it in my tape player. This is definately their definative work, their BEST album. Only reason I gave it 5 stars is because itunes wouldn't let me give it 100. BUY THIS ALBUM!
  • The vocals almost ruin it...almost.

All is a very technically gifted band with sonwriting chops up the wazoo to be sure. This album has some great tunes on it - the manic, proto-mathcore of "Check One", the Van Halen-gone-postpunk bittwesweetness of "Bubblegum", and more able-to-be-hyphenated treats abound. So, the writing, playing, the quirkiness and emotion is all there; the only weak link is the vocals. Smalley has decent intonation, but his voice often sounds nasal and whiny, and doesn't feel appropriate for the songs. He strains lines awkwardly and often sounds like he's going through late puberty on some of the louder numbers. He NAILS "Mary" though (no pun intended), since he sounds good when he lays back a bit. Overall, this is a good album to check out if you're new to ALL, but sorry to say the vocals just make me wish Milo had never gone to college.

I agree with prior statements. this is ALL's best work. This takes me back to my days as a skater. Hitting the half pipes and ramps...breaking bones and blasting this record. Love it!
  • Makes me a fan ALL over again

ALLmost 20 years after hearing it for the first time, Allroy's Revenge is still an awesome album. It made me a fan of ALL, and (too late) the Descendents, after hearing it only once. I saw them twice at First Ave. in Minneapolis, once with Scott and once with Chad. No disrespect to Chad, or Dave, but Scott will ALLways be the voice of ALL for me and this album is why. Scott's awkward "crooning" to a girl on Fool to the shy guy on Mary to a better than the original cover of Hot Rod Lincoln, combined with Stephen's screeching guitar work, Karl's solid bass lines and Bill's signature drum work makes this album nearly unbeatable in the "pop/punk" (or whatever you want to call it) genre. New punks, remember your roots. Without these guys, and this album, you would not be here.
