Project Excelsior (Original Score)

I think that this score is definitely one of the best of Adam's Scores, up there with The Ascent of Everest, and The Spirit of Saint Louis. The Pilot has a very cool, U2 guitar sound and a classic Adam synth line that really sets up the whole score. Ground Crew is definitely my favorite track on the album, as it has very nice guitar riffs and a mid-tempo beat. The Ascent is the "hidden track" I mentioned earlier. The beginning pad/flute/wind instrument's melody is recycled from an old song Adam made at least 8 years ago. If you look up Dear Vienna Owl City live in Chicago from 2008 on YouTube, the melody is at the end as Adam starts a new song. What!?!?! I heard the live version first and when I heard it on The Ascent I freaked out. Maybe this is another recycled Port Blue song like Wheels Down was Seagulls. The Descent is another good song on the album and it has amazing synths and guitars. This whole score seems very guitar driven (Sky Sailing 😄)which I find very pleasing to the ear. Overall, I could listen to this score all night and let it be the soundtrack to my dreams (which I actually did). Buy this score, 'cause you won't regret it.

What can I say? Adam Young can definitely add soundtrack composing to his repetoire. Project Excelsior contains a mix of great songs that can be used in almost any motion picture. Well done and I'm looking forward to more from him.

Certainly one of the best from Adam Young's ongoing 'Scores' project. Inspiring, peaceful, adrenaline-pumping. Highly recommended.
