- Keeps getting better

I have listened to Joe Purdy for many years now and his songwriting has always been great. But this album takes a full step into political commentary and it is truly wonderful. Some of the words are surprising and may be hard for some to hear ("Children of Privilege" and "Cairo Walls") but they carry a good message. Donald Trump supporters will want to skip "Maybe We'll All Get Along Someday." The sound is like it is a raw, old country albums that sound be playing on my father's old record player. Really beautiful stuff here.

I knew of Joe Purdy when he used to sing acoustic love songs and enjoyed his music, but his recent transition to folk protest songwriting is a much welcomed step for this brilliant singer-songwriter. Cairo Walls may be one of the best protest songs to be written in decades.
- A wonderful new album from a prolific musician. True story.

I saw Joe play live in Bend, Oregon last night and he shared many songs from this new album as well as his beautiful humor with the audience. His words completely broke my heart and then glued the pieces back together, and I needed to buy the album after the show and before I met him. Next time you are in Bend, Joe, you can count on me to buy a ticket and be in the front row! Thank you for sharing your gift with us.

I've been listening to Joe for awhile now, and I just saw him live for the first time, and had a chance to hear his new material before getting the album. I'm excited to hear his new direction. I am not 100% in love with every song, but I love that he's taken an interest in some social issues enough to write about them. It's been a fun ride watching him grow as a songwriter and musician, and I'm sure this train ride is just getting started!!
