King Crimson’s trifecta of Discipline, Beat and Three of a Perfect Pair was the soundtrack to my wry, erudite group of friends’ high school years. The musicianship is so phenomenal and intricate that it rolls over the considerable pretensions to the point where they can be enjoyed on their own terms. I would be interested to see the reaction of someone who had never heard this music before - I would imagine it would be almost shocking. Highly recommended.
